Recently purchased Aspire ATC-603-UR10 and I added a SSD drive but I want to use a second power adapter (the one that goes for one of the two power ports on the motherboard to the drives). The unit comes with only one that has a Y and powers the DVD and the 2TB hard drive.  Where can I buy a second cord for this. The local stores do not have one with the special 6 pin I believe mother board connector.

I would also like to upgrade the power supply which is just 300 watts, but its connector to the motherboard is also proprietary so where can I purchase an upgrade to this?  Please give me where and the part numbers,

Thank you very much,

I have exactly the same issue.  could not find the 6 pin connector either.  And, by looking at the cables, they somehow convert the 6 pins to only 4 cables.  I was looking for alternatives when I found this posting.

I think that maybe using a power cable splitter like this:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002N2EHVQ

    or this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Aleratec-Power-Splitter-Adapter-3-Pack/dp/B00EIRWLTE

About the Power Supply, I was also thinking of buyins a power supply, but I found out that the SSD consumes like 0.05 Watts, which means that another Power Supply is not needed for an SSD.

I am NO EXPERT so please use my advice with a grain of salt.

I ended up just using a splitter, but don't really like the solution since now the one power port is powering everything (DVD, Hard drive and SSD).  Why in the world would ACER want to use all these proprietary parts to not allow users to get the most out of their products?
