Hi, I really need access to the hidden BIOS settings.

I need access to these settings in order to disable the Nvidia GPU, because it's presence is creating really nasty errors when running linux.

If you could be so kind as to provide me with such an unlocked BIOS version, that would be much appreciated. Preferably one that has all the settings unlocked.

I checked the insyde.com website, and it stated that I had to ask you guys for this kind of thing.

I hope you can assist me, because as it stands the laptop is almost completely unusable with linux.

My system:

System Manufacturer: Acer
System Model: Aspire V3-772G
BIOS: InsydeH2O Version 03.72.37V1.13
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4702MQ CPU @ 2.20GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.2GHz

Memory: 16264MB RAM

Others asked similar questions in the past and nobody got a modified BIOS. So don't waste your time.

That is very unfortunate. I thought they would be happy to help out their customers. However it seems the newest Kubuntu distro solved most of the video card problems, so i won't be needing to disable the Nvidia card after all. However i would still like full access to the BIOS settings of the device i bought. You never know when something goes awry and you need to tweak some settings.

Locking down their products like this is very consumer unfriendly. If I wanted a locked down system where you are not supposed to think for yourself, i would have bought an Apple product instead.

So why do they lock down the BIOS like this? Is it to prevent people from accidentally making the system unbootable? Usually a reset to default takes care of that. And if you are poking around ignorantly, it is your own fault for breaking something. This is paternalism. What's next? All laptops must be chained to the ceiling to prevent users from accidentally dropping them in the toilet?
