Lifespan for Acer Monitors?

I have two acer monitors that I bought at the same time, and have been using in my dual monitor setup for the past 7 years. I'm now experiencing the same problem in bolth monitors.

I power them on, and they get a faint back glow and shut off. If I power them on and off again they will repeat this process over and over untill eventually they will stay on to display the blue acer text breifly and then go black again. After repeating they will eventually stay on and work fine untill they are either turned off or enter sleep mode. This has been happening for the past 3 weeks and the on and off process is getting longer and longer.

I'm curious if this is a fixable probelm or if my monitors have finally had enough and are worn out. I've never heard of monitors dying like this, but I have used them fairly consistantly for the past 7 years so. Is this a known issue? Thanks for any feedback.

What you are describing does sound like a hardware issue. It may be repairable and would recommend taking it to your local computer shop. Most of our monitors come with a 3yr warranty but we do not perform repairs on out of warranty monitors. Seven years of continuous use is good and sounds like you got good use out of your mointors. They can be repaired or you could purchase new monitors.
