Clean install of Windows 7 on Aspire One 522

I'm trying to put a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit on my AO-522 using the Digital River download and a USB stick (and a legitmate 64-bit Win7 key).  I'm doing this to get rid of the crapware that comes with pre-loaded on the Acer eRecovery disc.

My efforts have been unsuccessful thus far, even when starting from a clean (never used) SSD.  I tried the following DISKPART (clean wipe) activity to no avail:

Windows 7 get past the Language Screen but when I choose the "Custom" install -- it gives me an unusual error and will not let me proceed with the install.   Most of the searches on the internet say this can be fixed by running DISKPART and reformatting the SSD, which has been done multiple times.

Thinking it was an SSD incompatibility, I reinstalled the OEM hard drive and the same problem came up.

Again, the OEM Acer eRecovery version of Windows successfully loads, but the Microsoft Digital River download does not.  I understand the AMD C50 on the Aspire One AO-522 is a 64-bit processor, so I'm at a loss to understand why.

If anyone has tried a clean install on an AO-522 from the Microsoft Windows 7 download site, please advise on how successfull pull this off.

    Hi...

Since you are able to install Windows using the Acer recovery media, the issue is not related with the computer or the HDD.

It can be an issue with the recovery media or the Windows files on the drive. You may try installing Windows by selecting any other option except "Custom" and check if it works.
