eRecovery Management load backup

My computer (Acer 5950G) was stuck on the infinite startup loop, so I used the eRecovery option to save my data and reinstall Windows only; but no luck and it wouldn't install properly. So, I used a USB-Ubuntu and transfered the backup to an external hard-drive. Now, I restored the entire computer, I want to be able to restore the backup, but I don't know how.

The only way I know how to do that is with recovery disks. Did you create them when you first bought the computer?

I did, but that really won't help me get back all the data that I had on the computer before it crash.

Would it help if the data was backed up in .dat files?
