Touchpad not responding on V5-561p

I noticed that the touchpad on my Acer V5 with touchscreen I bought last month is not working. I don't know when it started since I use a wireless mouse most of he time. I tried reinstalling the latest 2014 Elan drivers (11.6.27) but it's still not responding at all despite showing up as enabled in "Mouse properties"

I know it's not a hardware problem because when I reinstalled the Synaptics 17.0 driver it started working until I restarted the computer and I haven't been able to make it work since despite trying numerous drivers reinstall.

Does anyone know a solution to this ?

Thanks

    hi...

I suggest you to uninstall the touchpad driver under "mice and pointing devices" in device manager.
Then restore the computer using Acer eRecovery management. This will install the correct driver for the touchpad.

Use the following steps to reinstall a driver, press the Windows key to open the Start screen.
Type Recovery in the search box, Click Acer Recovery Management in the search results.
Click Reinstall Drivers, On the Contents tab, locate the driver to install and click the Install icon.
Follow the prompts to install the driver.

You need to press and hold the Fn key and tap the F7 key to turns the touchpad on and off.

Thanks for the advice but for some reason AcerRecovery doesn't want to start when I click on it. Anyways I already had manually removed and reinstalled the drivers. Yesterday I tried pressing the F7 shortcut several times it started working but when I restarted my PC this morning it stopped again and now it's working again !

The fact that the touchpad is working on and off makes me think the problem is probably related to the sleep mode or shutdown of my computer.
