Connecting to a PC as a USB storage device

I am a new Acer Iconia user and a newbie to this community.  Hello to everyone and Happy D Day.

I received my Iconia A3-A10 on Monday and have been working my way through the manual and have come to a problem  in trying to download the setup.exe file.  I have the file and have tried to install it.  When I first tried I got the message "Please plug the device befoe you install."  The installation process ceased.  I then connected the Acer A3 and tried to run the setup file again with the same results.  The USB cable is going from my tablet to my laptop.  For the first time, I have just done a check on my computer and the laptop recognizes the Acer internal drive and the external SD card.  Do I have a problem or did the setup installation actually complete its process?

Windows 7 and 8 can manage MTP file transfer and memory storage, natively.

the setup.exe will add more drivers like USB tethering, modem and NDIS, so if you need the USB connection only to manage files between your PC and Tablet, you are ok.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
