R7-572 recovery software does not function

Quite simply, when I click on Acer Recovery, a box pops up asking if I'll allow the program to make changes to my computer, I click OK and then... nothing.

How can I force it to work?

Aside from the general need to make recovery disks, I'm eager to swap out the HDD for an mSATA.

    Colchicine,

The software should launch and if it is not, then I would recommend contacting Acer's technical support in your region. When you call them advise that you are trying to create the USB recovery media but unsuccessful as the software will not load.

You could try navigating to the Recovery software itself. It's located in C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Recovery Management

I ran the eRecoveryUI program and then Create Factory Default Backup.  Edit: Alternatively, you can using cloning software to Clone the HDD onto the msata drive. But if at all possible, I would make a standard Acer backup first in any case.

There's a guide on how to open up the R7 and replace drives on YouTube - you'll need a Torx screwdriver.

Thanks Jim.  I finally got around to trying your way.  I actually get an error message to go on, but research has shown I'd have to get into some coding to figure out what exactly it means.
