Acer Aspire Tower M3470G

A couple of weeks ago I posted here requesting assitance with my tower - upon powering on it freezes on a black screen before booting BIOS. Acer responded - unfortunately the solution is it will have to be repaired. The tower is less than 2 yrs old but as such is outside the 1 yr warranty so I'll be charged for the repair.

If this tower was older or had more use I wouldn't take issue with paying to have it repaired. But given it's age, the fact that it's had very minimal use, and that (per Google search and this discussion board) this is a fairly common issue with Acer PCs and laptops. Acer needs to take responsibility for the repair and honor their customers faith in their product.

As a widow and surviving parent trying to support my daughter on a limited income,  my computer allows me a means to generate the extra income I depend on to make ends meet. I paid over $400 for just this tower. I realize that doesn't buy a top of the line system - but it certainly should have bought enough quality that it wouldn't need paid repair for a manufacturing issue less than 2 yrs after purchase.

I won't be sending the tower in for repair. Given the circumstances, I can't help feel that I'd be throwing good money after bad. I think it goes without saying that I won't be purchasing or recommending Acer products in the future.
