Hi I have performed the recommended restarting of the modem, router, laptop, uninstalling the wireless network driver, and cannot connedt to the internet. I have another laptop that connects my home network just fine. The Acer used to, but suddenly stopped. Please advise!!

I am having a similar problem. The wireless was reported to have worked on a aspire 4720z with a atheros ar5007eg adapter with win xp, then win vist installed. I wiped the hard drive, installed win 7 ultimate and now can not connect wirelessly. Checked with the hardware discovery app from the acer site to make sure I was trying with the correct drivers. bios, windows device manager recognize the adapter but windows mobile center shows the adapter as "wireless off" and the "turn wireless on" button as grayed out.  Chris.

I had the exact same problem the other day and this is what fixed mine (I have Windows XP Home x32 SP3).

Just find the section that applies to your operating system (Im assuming Windows) and follow the directions completely. Be sure to back up your registry first!
