LODGING A COMPLAINT!

Right Acer,

One very unhappy customer!

On September 11th 2012, I purchased from Littlewoods UK an ACER Aspire d270 with Windows 7 starter and 1 Gb ddr3 ram.

Priced at £300.

I have only used this device a few times and in that time found it slow and unresponsive so I upgraded the ram from the crappy low end 1gb stick you provided (why you put only 1gb in these beats me as win 7, all versions, requires 1gb min to even operate) to a 2gb ddr3 stick.

I have had the ram tested and that is fine. yet it's slow and unresponsive still.

I have checked the event viewer last night after doing a factory reset for the third time this week to get it working and when I checked the event viewer tonight, none of these services are running nor will it let me access them.

there are endless errors and the windows o/s is corrupted, errors galore from the day I started it.

I had initially thought nothing of it and carried on using it but it just got slower and slower.

now when I complained about this last week, I had a technician email me back and offer me a set of recovery discs for around £50.

HELLO!!!!! IT'S A NETBOOK!!!!! NO CD DRIVE!!!!!

I had explained already that I do not hold an external CD drive either.

The technician, from the way I was understanding it, pretty much accepted liability on behalf of the company saying that the windows O/S may have been corrupted from day one!

What's more, the live chat support agent also said to me that I could send it in for accessment and repair but it would cost me £55 or thereabouts to get it fixed.

so you provide me with a netbook with a faulty O/S. something that is a breach of contract between the company and the buyer.

Your duty is to provide the customer with something that actually works not something that has just been built in the STONE AGE!!!

I cannot get a new o/s on it because the hard drive is screwing up.

I could get a new HDD but that is going to cost money! and lots of it!

I wanted my system so I could transfer my images from my camera to my netbook while out in the field.

so far, I have never once been able to do this yet!

I would like ACER to investigate why my win 7 keeps corrupting when restoring to facotry default.

investigate why I was sold a product that is not fit for purpose and why a technician would, as I say, admit responsibility

If you find that the fault does lie in your hands, I would like you to fully replace my system with something that does actually work and that is going to be responsive!

if I do not get a reply within 7 days , I will take the issue to BBC watchdog and ensure your company is dragged through all the public media channels and make sure that people know you are selling products not fit for use!

I am fed up now of having to try and try reformatting my system to factory default only to find that the factory default partition is also corrupt!

I await your response!
