Acer Aspire - weird display issues (black appears blue)

Have an odd display problem with my Acer Aspire.

Opened it up this morning and anything in a photo, video or even my desktop background that should appear as black is now an odd blue-ish color. Text in Chrome, Word or Excel are fine.

I have a photo centered on the desktop w/ a black background surrounding it, so this was pretty easy to observe, but just can't seem to get rid of it.

This thing has always reset it's display settings on a near weekly basis -- the mouse cursor changes, the display extends itself to 2 monitors where I only use the laptop screen, etc. -- so not sure if it's just another settings glitch or if the graphics card is crapping out.

Any help or guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

Matt

The problem you are describing sounds like a hardware problem, but it is very hard to tell just from a description of your issue. It is easy to check to see if the issue is caused by a setting or if it is caused by a failing LCD panel or other hardware issue.

The easiest way to test this would be to take a screen shot of what is not displaying correctly and save it as a .jpg file. Once you have the file saved, open it on another computer that does not have the display issue you described. If it looks right on the other computer, then it would suggest a hardware problem that requires repair. If this is the case, contact your local technical support department for service options.
