Can't install Win 7 enterprise on Aspire One

Hi All,

I have an Aspire One that came with Win 8.  Now trying to install Win 7 Enterprise with a volume license (the computer belongs to my University, so completely legit, etc), but we're getting an 0xC004F035 error when trying to activate Windows.  Seems to have to do with something in the ACPI_SLIC table in the BIOS?  I'm not sure - it seems really weird.  We've tried updating the BIOS, but it's already up to date.  We've tried installing XP and upgrading from there, but get the same error.  Why can't we install a valid copy of Windows on a machine that we purchased??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I found a microsoft KB article that actually answers why you are not able to activate your volume license on an OEM computer.

I hope this article helps explain the problem. I understand it states Windows Vista/Windows 7 in the article,  but the licensing terms still apply to any upgrade path or install.
