Acer Aspire 5750 not booting - batterly light is orange or flashing

I have a huge problem my Acer Aspire 5750, which is only 2.5 years old. I first realised that there was an issue when I was working on the laptop with the charger was unplugged. The battery was running out, so I connected the charger. At that point, the power LED, electricity LED and battery LED down the bottom started flashing and the battery would not recharge: it was as if the laptop would not recognise the charger. Once the battery was completely out, the laptop switched itself off and it would not turn on anymore: the battery light is orange or blinking, the power led flashes once and that’s it. I tried to buy a different charger with no luck: again, the battery light is orange or flashes and the laptop does not boot. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

    hi..

You may try to perform a power reset to check the issue.

    1. Unplug the AC adapter from your notebook.
    2. Turn the notebook over to remove the battery.
    3. Turn the notebook back over and open it.
    4. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds, then release the power button.
    5. Turn the notebook back over and slide the battery back into place.
    6. Slide the lock tab back into the lock position.
    7. Turn over the notebook one last time and plug in your AC adapter.
    8. Turn on your notebook.

    Hello,

I forgot to mention that I had already performed the power drain (as you suggested) but I still have the same issue.

    To recap:

    - the power drain is ineffective

    - it cannot be the charger as I bought a new charger and it still had the same issue

    - I don't think it's the battery as it was working fine when the battery was on (i.e. before it was completely discharged)

    Thanks
