Acer V3-571G crashing with no bluescreen

I recently picked up this guy on newegg, got it delivered with windows 8 - installed windows 7 with all the relevant drivers, updated the bios from 2.02 to 2.09 because I was getting crashes at first where the screen would break up into multiple small overlaping boxes and simply hang there until hard-reset. After a couple of those, I then started getting straight to power-off crashes with no BSOD or relevant information upon re-starting the system other than an 'Kernel-Power' 41 critical error under event viewer.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any known causes? I'm scratching my head here.

That does not sound like an OS or BIOS issue, but a power issue.

We would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.

Been a long time since I posted this.

Sent the unit in for repair twice so far, first time all they did was replace the operating system and send it back without further tests.

Second time they knew what was wrong with it specifically. Stressed tested it at their facility and it passed without crashing for 12+ hrs.

Got it back, I've probably only had it for 2-3 weeks out of the 2 months i've owned it.est

Anyways, opened it up out of the repair box and fire it up, lasts 1hr before crashing like it was manually power cycled down and just turns off with no bluescreen etc.

If they actually did stress test it I don't really know what to think. It really sucks to have paid 700$+ for a product that doesn't really work Smiley Sad

PS: Error in event viewer confirms the comp didn't crash the single day/couple hours the tech stress tested it, but did crash the day I got it back.

    Anyone else have similar problems?

editedit: looks like it did actually crash for the tech lol, on feb 6th, not on the 7th though when testing was continued.

Funny to see the tech actually replicate it and then send it back to me still broken for a second time.

That is unfortunate.  The tech should have been able to see that.

I'm afraid there's not much I'm going to be able to help with through these forums.

Obviously, just reloading did not resolve the issue.

I really don't want to tell you to contact service again, but I don't have any options otherwise.

Be sure that you explain what has occured and that it has been in twice with no resolution.

I'm sorry that you're having to endure this issue with this system.

Right, so as an update I ended up getting a new model of the same class v3-572g-9896 and this one has a broken bezel right underneath the track pad so if you rest your palm to the right of the trackpad and move your hand forward the whole front black plastic bezel comes forward off the computer.

Also the right shift key is broken.

Whats with acer quality control? I have a 5670 from like 6 years ago that is still rock solid and 2/2 of the v3-571g I've recieved have both had issues.
