Hello,

I got back from work last night , and can't get my laptop to work.  The lights come on, the Acer logo comes up with the circling dots, then the dark screen with cursor comes up, and the start-up doesn't go any further.

Has anyone got any ideas?

    Hello,

To check if your laptop see Hard Disk Drive:

    1. Press F2 to enter in the bios setup utility when you see Acer screen
    2. Check in Information tab you see the HDD (model, serial number)
    3. Check in Boot tab you have in first position the HDD
    4. Press F10 Save and Exit - Reply NO
    5. Your laptop restart automatically

    Give me the feedback.

Hi there. I have exactly the same problem.
After start-up a black screen. But if i wait long enough i get an initial prepair for automatic repair, but afterwards notting. This screen i get for hours.
I hear the hdd spinning with a soft ticking sound.

So i tried the above suggesting. Entered the boot menu, checked if i saw the hdd, it is visible. Also in the boot menu the hdd is at no 1. Exit as mentioned and got a restart, BUT.........:

    The following message is shown:

NO BOOTAE DEVICE. HIT ANY KEY.

    Help me please.
