Acer Netbook Display Issues

I have had my Acer Aspire One D257-13450 10.1" netbook for a year now. A month ago I stepped on the screen, cracking it. Ordered a new one and went to install it but the signal was tempormental. It was the video cable. I have now replaced the  video cable but there is no display whatsoever. It boots up and the HDD works excellent, just no display. EDIT: The external vga port works excellent still. It displays flawlessly on the flat panel I tested it on.

It sounds as if the new video cable is not compatible with the screen and/or mainboard.

If that were the case, then my old screen would not light up. My old screen lights and this new screen lit at one point also. Additionally, my acer webcam still works with this cable(tested on external display). If it is not the cable, and not the video card, is there any other solutions? I also tried discharging by holding the power button for a minute without the battery in.

Might order a NEW cable soon, could it be the inverter? I am still stumped on this issue. Works great on external stil.
