Hello. I own a somewhat aged Acer Aspire M3910 and I wanted to do a factory install onto a new hard drive. The standard issue hard drive that came with it was a Seagate Barricuda 1TB drive that's litterly about to die within the next hour or so. The current drive I want to install it to is a Seagate Barricuda 2TB.

I tried to use the "factory disc" that i created with eRecovery Management but after copying and install it continutes to "configure" settings, then around that time afterwards it says the hardware is not supported.

I really need it installed on my new drive or else I won't be able to do the things I need to do. A responce (immediate, if possible) would be fantastic. (The hard drive's drivers are installed, just thought I would point that out)

    Hi BarX

It might be because your motherboard only supports up to 1TB hard drives. This is the most likely to be problem you're having.

The only other thing it could be:

If your computer predates 2010/11, the original hard drive is likely to be a 512 byte sector. Since then, hard drives are now 4k sector (4096 bytes). If you're running Windows 7 (PRE SERVICE PACK 1), you will run in to compatibility problems.
