Acer aspire v5-531 not working

My acer laptop has suddenly stopped working, it simply won't power on, with battery, with battery and charger cable or without battery and the power cable plugged in, I have tried holding the power button for 20 seconds, sometimes longer and then plugging in the cable, sometimes this causes the blue light on the blower button to flash in sync with the blue power button at the bottom of the laptop and also the orange charging light to flash, but this does not always happen, I have left the laptop like this for at least an hour hoping maybe it just might need to get some power into the battery (although it should do this without the battery whilst plugged into the mains) but still nothing!

If someone could help I'd much appreciate it! The laptop is well looked after barely used, must have been used about 20 times at most and typically the warranty has just expired.... Really disappointed with this product if I'm honest.

But any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ash

I am sorry to hear your Aspire V5-531 is not powering on. It looks like you have performed a few great troubleshooting steps. Have you tried contacting technical support and getting an adapter replacement to see if that is the issue? If the adapter is not the problem, it may be related to the dc board or mainboard and would require service.

Thanks for the reply Ryan and sorry for my late reply,

I haven't tried contacting technical support as of yet, but I have purchased a brand new adapter to see if that was the cause but that didn't solve anything, as well as a brand new battery but this also solved nothing. I don't believe it would be the DC board, as with the adaptor plugged in the battery power light still functions and shows that it is charged (originally it was not, so I believe it is still charging the battery effectively) so I think that's still working fine, correct me if I may be wrong?

If it is the Mainboard which has failed I could not offer any possible reason as to why it might have done, it has never been dropped, tampered with, had anything fall/spilt on it or left on charge for prolonged periods of time etc, it has been well looked after by myself, never used by anyone else and it's just simply failed on me, working fine one day and nothing from it the next.

Has anyone else had similar problems with the same model of laptop? Or are their any known build faults with this specific model? Any recalls made for this model etc that would make sense of its sudden failure?

It has to be said that overall I am extremely disappointed with this product and will not be purchasing from Acer again, it's not the first time I've had problems with this laptop, originally the laptop had to be replaced due to a hardware problem, also I would of thought that the one-year warranty would cover the new product sent out and be extended from the point of delivery or opening however this was not the case when I came to register my product again, the warranty simply covers it from the date of purchase which I find highly ridiculous, as it leaves me with the problem I'm in now, if the warranty had of been extended to restart on the date of repairs or delivery, I could have had my laptop sent back in and sorted, and wouldn't have to be further wasting money on something that has failed due to being poorly built and through no fault of mine.

I appear to now be stuck with a dead laptop and a bundle of university work that I'm now struggling to complete without it.

I wish I'd stuck with my initial idea now and purchased a HP Laptop.
