Do I need to backup my documents when changing RAM?

Hi! I am a new member to this Acer Forum. I will try to find an answer first about how to install the two new 1GB DDR2 RAM cards in my Aspire 9410 notebook before posting a new question.  I can see physically how to do it, but want to know if I need to backup or remove my document/photo files first? Will I need to reload my program software?

Thanks everyone!

    Hi dcslms23

No, you do not need to back up your documents because you're adding or removing RAM. However, regular backups should be done of all your data/files because computers have a habit of going wrong (usually without notice) and data can become lost. Sometimes, even human error can see a loss of data!

So backup now anyway, and do so on a regular basis - unless all the stuff on your laptop you don't mind losing!
