Can't use USB recovery media to refresh S7-392

After receiving my S7 back from Acer repair in December, I used the eRecovery function to create a USB recovery including the recovery partition. After a few months, I started noticing some Windows issues (couldn't connect to the Store and others) so decided to use my USB stick to do a refresh or reset.

Upon booting to the USB stick and choosing the refresh (or reset) option, I get the message "The drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock and try again". I am unable to find any method to "unlock" the drive. Thus I am unable to recover using my USB stick.

Can anyone assist? I've sent this S7 in twice for a new hard disk and don't want to send it again. Acer chat support said I have to send it in because the hard drive is bad. I'm not sure I agree since I can boot to Windows off the hard drive fine and most everything works.

Are there some instructions on how to completely re-install Windows on this S7?

I am not familiar with the error you are describing. Is it possible the flash drive has some type of write protection on it? If the computer will boot to Windows, go to the Metro UI and type recovery and launch eRecovery from within windows. This should give you the option to restore. If you are still having problems, I would contact technical support in your region, and see if you can order replacement USB media.
