powercord problem

The store where I purchased an Acer (Gateway NE56R17) said that the laptop is still under warranty and that I must contact Acer direct.  Tried that, but I do not have the SN handy (my daughter is using it away out of town for university.  However, I have all kinds of numbers on the receipt--but the automated system is not working for me.  I would like to send the powercord back to Acer for a replacement.  How can I do this?  Theresa

    Call or email your daughter. Ask her to turn the laptop upside down and read you the SNID. Then go from there. This is  probably the  easiest, fastest and only way you're gonna be able to do this.
