ssd upgrade = total failure

So i just bought my self a ssd (samsung 256gb pro) brand new, i didnt get a sata cable for som reason but i downloaded win 8 un activaded on a ext harddrive. But when i turn my acer aspire v3 571g on it just says no bootable device. Hit any key. When i hit a key it shows me bootmanager but i dont have any opinions :/ please help!!!!

    Have you checked your bios boot order?

    is your old drive still in operating condition?  if so re-install it and use an imaging program (ex. MacriumReflect / Acronis

    or similar) to make an image copy plus burn the bootable disk recovery program.  then install the new drive and use the boot disk to restore the image copies to the new drive.

     

    NOTE: if your new drive is smaller than the original drive you will need to shrink your original disk partitions first (using Mini Tool Partition Wizard or similar) so it will fit.
