A500 freezing constantly

I've had my Acer A500 for almost 3 years come July and it's constantly freezes while playing games or surfing the internet or just using it overall.  My fiancee has the same issue and we bought ours around the same time.  He has reset his tablet and still has the same issue with freezing.  So I don't want to waste my time wipe mine and have the same issue.  Does anyone have the same issue and if so does anyone have a solution?  I work with electronics and I've troubleshot everything and it seems to be a software issue.  Does anyone know when they will come out with a new software update?  I love my Acer tablet and would hate to have to go to another brand.

I am happy to hear you are a long time Acer customer and have enjoyed your A500. At the same time I am sorry to hear you and your fiancee are having problems with it. As far as there being updates I do not believe the A500 will get any further Android version updates. The games you are playing may be for new versions or may not be fully compatible with your version of Android. It could also be that the game supports your Android version but the A500 specs may fall short or be a minimum requirement so you may experience what you are seeing now.

I came to this conclusion based of the fact that the factory reset did not resolve the problem with your fiancee. I don't feel this is a brand issue but the fact that tablets released at that time work well with the version shipped on the tablet. As the Android operating system improves/evolves it can require higher specs and need a newer system to run without issue. So in short the newer games you are getting may show it works with Android 3.2 or X.X but the tablets processor, graphics and installed memory may not be able to handle it fully.

Worse case if I am wrong because I don't know what games you are using this could be hardware related and require repair. If that is the case please contact technical support in your region.
