Acer V5-573PG short wifi range

Connecting to wifi has no problem at all but the only downside to this newly bought laptop(December 2013) is the short range connection to WiFi.

I have to get closer to the router to be able to connect. I have to be within 3 meters to be able to connect.

If I'm 3-8 meters away from the router, windows 8.1 can detect the wifi but unable to connect.

I am searching this kind of problem all over the net, and I will be trying to buy a wifi dongle and use it as a workaround on this issue. Others, say i have to update my driver but it is already the latest. I have Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter.

I am also thinking that I should report this to the store i bought this from because i'm still covered by the warranty period.

I hope someone can share his/her thoughts on this problem.

    Hi Tagolito

If your wireless connection works further than 3 metres for your other wireless devices, then I'd take your laptop back. Your Qualcomm Wireless Adapter sounds as if it has a problem!

But, if you are finding other wireless devices have some issues too, then I'd suggest your router is at fault!
