Ipod touch and acer e1-572g problem

Hi guys!

I recently bought the Acer E1-572G with Windows 8.1 installed on it. The problem is whenever i try to connect my ipod touch 4 it repeatedly connects and disconnects from the laptop. Both ipod and its cable work flawlessly on my other laptop (an hp with windows 7). Even when i had windows 7 on this new acer laptop my ipod behaved the same. There is nothing wrong in device manager. The windows 8.1 is up to date so is the itunes version.

What should i do?

Are you currently running the factory installed operating system? This sounds like a driver issue with either the iPod 4 that was installed when you first connected it to the notebook, or the USB driver of the E1-572G.

I would suggest downloading and installing the latest Windows 8.1 drivers from http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers. Another suggestion if that does not work, would be removing and reinstalling the Apple Device Support. I found an Apple support article that may assist in this along with other steps to uninstall iTunes and its components before reinstalling iTunes; http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.

If the above steps fail, try Reloading your Acer computer using the built-in recovery software, or with recovery media.
