Power light comes on, and the fan starts, but nothin else happens. Most blogs suggest this is the hallmark of BIOS problems. Do I need an upgrade to the BIOS. What steps would I need to follow?

You may try a power drain on the computer. Here are the steps.

    1) Remove the adapter (power cord) and battery from the netbook.

    2) Press and hold the power button for 10- 15 seconds.

    3) Then reconnect the battery and plug in the adapter.

    4) Turn the computer on and check whether it is working.

If it does not work, it might be a hardware issue. You may contact Acer support team for further options to fix this issue.
