Acer Aspire laptop freezes randomly

Hi all,

This seems to be a recurring with the Acer products as I've seen lots of people ask around for this solution. It seems that the general problem is that it doesn't matter what I'm doing with my computer (whether on the internet or writing up a document), it still freezes nonetheless. The mouse doesn't move and if I happen to be watching a video, the video freezes and the sound makes a broken-record sort of sound and then cuts off completely. When my computer freezes, I normally shut it off, but I can't even return to what I was doing before as there seems to be like a five-minute limit before it freezes again. I can't do anything with my laptop without getting a migraine.

I've just bought this computer in September 2013 and it started freezing up about three to four weeks from using it. I have tried asking around people I know and from their knowledge, it's a hardware problem? Or hard drive? I'm not good with computers so I don't understand what appears to be the problem, but other web forums suggest changing the computer from the inside and I do not want to go to those lengths.  I have tried registry cleaners, restarting my computer completely, and I honestly don't know what to do.

If anyone needs the laptop type and specific information, I'll be more than willing to provide since all help is welcome. If anyone had this problem and had it solved, I would appreciate hearing what they had done. I really need this fixed since this is supposed to be my new computer to work for at least 4 years and I'm really thinking about dumping this one and buying a non-Acer laptop.

Thanks everyone!

If you reloaded your computer to factory settings, and still have problems with freezing, the problem is most likely hardware related. You can try blowing the system out with compressed air, if it feels like it may be overheating. Since you are probably still in warranty, you may want to call technical support in your region, to see about repair options.
