Aspire 5750Z won't send signal to monitor.

During initial boot-up, the monitor is receiving a signal, and duplicates the laptop screen. But after the boot-up, the laptop recognizes that there is a monitor but won't send a proper signal through the HDMI cable. It will send a signal through VGA all the time. How can I fix this?

Try pressing the FN + F5 key on your notebook. This should tell the computer to display to an external monitor. You may have to use the key combination a couple of times to get the desired effect.

Pressing FN + F5 once should display the video on the external monitor.

Pressing FN + F5 twice should display the video on the computer and external monitor
