Vista Home Premium (VHP) patches have made my Outlook application unstable, now inaccessible and non-reinstallable. I want to recover Outlook e-mails and contacts addresses and then export them to Windows Live.
I am proposing to replace VHP with the Windows 7 Upgrade Kit received from Acer. My machine is no longer covered by the Acer warranty.
Problems: when started, the Acer Upgrade Kit dialogue only gives me an option about the Acer 'Notebook' to be upgraded and not the 'Desktop M1201' that I actually have. The Desktop option is greyed-out in the Kit dialogue box.
Secondly, the Upgrade wants to replace my BIOS and I am extremely wary about this, especially as the first step above does not match my system or my environment. I am concerned that Acer has sent me the wrong Kit and that it may be too late to cange this.
What do I do? Buy a version of Windows Vista HP or Windows 7 HP and scrap the Kit that Acer sent me?
Thanks for your response.
