W510 Keyboard Dock Not Working

Hello all. I just received my keyboard dock for the W510. I can't seem to get it to work. I plug the tablet into the dock and it makes a "ding" sound. The keyboard and track pad are not working.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

How new is it? Did you recieve it like this? Sounds like there are either drivers for that USB device that are not installed or there may be something wrong with the docking station itself. Check the support website to see if there are any drivers for that docking station. If not, then call tech support to see if they can't fix the unit.

I contacted Acer support. Fairly useless.

Anyway I took the keyboard dock apart. I found a connector that was halfway out of its socket that came from the connection to the tablet. There was wire wrap on the wire that was pushing the connector out of the socket. I peeled back the wrap and pushed the connector in correctly. I'm typing this on the keyboard dock now. I made sure there was positive pressure on the connector so that hopefully it won't pop out again.

Problem solved. Good to go now.
