W4-820 and GPS/GNSS

The latest set of drivers for the W4-820 contains a number of files for a drivers\GPS directory and the .txt file has this:

# BcmGnssLocationSensor.dll
124B6454-5F0E-40F9-94A5-05E7A8268991
# BcmGnssBus.sys
a6bf2da4-bca0-4901-81f2-6fbd92ad2d13
# BcmGnssAtRil.dll
E6BBA93D-0511-42A6-8005-856ACC6DE521

Does the W4 contain the Broadcom GPS receiver ? If so is it the Broadcom 4752 ? Would be a reason to buy one.

Just found recerence to a W4-821 with "GPS" (suspect really GNSS), NT.L37ED.004. Anyone know if this is going to be available in the US ? Looks like this is a 3G/LTE model so will require a mobile data plan.

(My notes indicate a LxxED is a scandinavian model)

It's sure to depend on the networks, and the persuasiveness of Acer's sales team... For sure they won't be selling outside the carrier's network of outlets. I will hope for Verizon, you hope for whomever provides yours. :-)

I have a Verizon MiFi hotspot that supports up to five devices and a smart phone with unlimited. I do not need more plans but for a personal device, particularly when trying to grab market share, it needs a GPS to be a Sat-Nav. Looks like Apple, Samsung, Toshiba, and Lenovo understand that.
