AOD255E Adjust Display Brightness Not Working

I just inherited an AOD255E from a former employee and was unable to adjust the screen brightness. On power or battery the screen seemed to be at full bright.

 

The Acer launcher software is installed and working, I can use the function keys do control the volume, mute, etc.

 

When I go to the display properties in Windows, the brigtness indicator moves back and forth when I use the function keys but the screen brightness does not change.

 

For safety and other issues I did perform a full factory reset using the acer utility and the behavior is the same.

 

I tried making changes in the Intel Graphics Display software with no luck.

 

Any tips, suggestions or points to posts I may have missed on the topic would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that you have covered all of the areas that I would initially suggest.

 

It is possible that there is a hardware issue which is preventing brightness control changes, but I would not be able to make that determination over the Community.

 

If you would like to pursue the issue further, I would suggest that you contact your local Acer service center for assistance.
