keyboard problem - please help

i have an aspire 5735 laptop which has been working fine. however, now, the caps lock is playing up, and although i can still use it if i perservere i.e. Help - it sticks either on or off each time i press it. also, it is not working so i cannot type symbols above the numbers, so if i want to type an exclamation mark for example i get a 1. i have searched everywhere for an answer - is it a software problem.

can someone help - please. thanks, sorry for bad grammar and typing etc. faulty keyboard

    Normally, I would assume that most typists use the SHIFT key in order to access the shifted keys (capital letters or the symbols above the number keys).  If you are having a specific keyboard issue, it's possible that you have a hardware issue.

     

    For a hardware issue, you would need to contact your local Acer technical support for assistance.

    I don't know how good you are with replacing parts, if you are confident enough, google for the keyboard and you can get for £15 or something and learn from some videos avilable and you can replace the keybord yourself, on the otherhand, if you are afraid of breaking something follow Tommy's suggestion and take it to a PC shop.

    I suspect you may have spilled something on it or may be some dust trapped in between the keys.
