Constant HDD light flashing in Windows 8 unless I disable DVD drive.

Just upgraded to Windows 8 on my Acer Aspire 5560-sb613 and my HDD light was constantly blinking all the time.  After days of troubleshooting on another forum, someone with an Acer notebook suggested I disable the DVD drive, since that worked for him.  I went ahead and did this, and the light stopped blinking.  Any idea why this happens?  It's a temporay workaround, but I would rather not have to disable my DVD drive.  Is this a known issue?

Thanks.

I can confirm the issue exists on the V3-571-6850 as well in Windows 8. Disabling the DVD drive stops the excess chatter on the sata bus for me as well, but obviously that's not a good solution. Hopefully an Acer employee will look into this.

Thanks, at least we know it's a problem over multiple models.

Has acer even acknowledged this is a problem.... 2 months later, no fix?
