Hello, friends. My name is John. I'm in Rhode Island, USA

I imagine you get this issue a lot, but

I don't see my particular notebook in the archives,

so I was hoping you could tell me how to dust this

beast with a can of compressed air, and if you

think this is a plausible reason for its freezing up

to the point where I am forced to depress the

power button until it turns off. TYVM in advance.

If the system is freezing, you could try blowing it out with a can of compressed air to see if it is freezing due to heating issues from not getting proper ventilation. The problem could be more software related also. You could try removing any unnecessary programs, or checking to make sure you do not have any malware or spyware that can cause freezing issues like you described. If you feel you may have spyware or adware, you can use Acer eRecovery Management to reload Windows and remove any unwanted programs. You would need to back up any data prior to reloading your operating system, as it will delete all files.

Bahai, Acer Blayne gave you sme good advice. I would also download the free CoreTemp program to keep an eye on your temperature.

Short of taking it apart, the best way to clean the inside of a laptop is to turn it off and carefully shoot a blast of compressed air into the exit vent.
