Replacing dead HDD on an Aspire 5750. Would I need 32 or 64 bit Windows?

Hi there,

We purchased an Acer Aspire 5750 and after a few months, we started having "blue screens of death" and boot up issues. One of the errors we received, we looked up online and it indicated that our 500 GB hard drive was going out. We purchased a 1TB replacement and discovered that we needed to repurchase Windows 7 full version to have an operating system. The question is: Will the 64 bit version work, or do we need the 32 bit? Most of the online information tells you to look at the system. It assumes the machine is still working! Hahahaha...

Thanks,

both 32 and 64 are ok, you can send it to acer for service, its free if still under warranty

64 bit os is better since 32bit os only support up to 4gb memory.

if you unit is still under warranty, just send the unit with the defectived hd to acer service depot.

they will replace the hd and reload the os for you
