Acer Aspire 5810TZ Bluetooth issue

Hi, I have the above listed Acer notebook, that runs on Windows Vista-64 bit. I recently got a bluetooth speaker (called a 'Jam Classic HMDX') system for Christmas, but it refuses to appear in the devices manager OR where I click on bluetooth devices in control pannel.

I even downloaded the bluetooth device assistant from this Acer website, and it STILL will not recognize it.

I tried connecting the speaker to the laptop via an AUX cable, to do the automatic connect using the bluetooth device assistant, and still, nothing.

I have followed many tips, but nothing seems to help. The speaker DOES connect to my blackberry, AND to an iPad, so I know the speaker is not the issue. Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Godswoman

Have you tried connecting any other Bluetooth devices to your laptop? Do they work OK or still nothing?

If other items don't connect either to your laptop, then it seems as if your Bluetooth may have worked loose or failed. The best thing to do would be to take it to your local PC store, who will be able to reseat or replace your Bluetooth adaptor. You could also just buy a Bluetooth dongle to connect to a USB port instead.

Hi Ace, Thank you. No, nothing else bluetooth connects or even shows up on my laptop. Guess I may be looking for a USB connected Bluetooth adapter. Thanks for the advice.
