Acer Aspire E1-470P --- Changing Memory

Does anyone know how to change/upgrade the memory on this laptop?  There is no "memory door" on the bottom of the laptop. Do you have to just remove the entire bottom cover (which is all one piece)?  I wanted to ask before I just started taking it apart to see if anyone knew.  I asked Acer Support and they said "they didn't know" which I found quite odd!

Thank you!!!

Please provide me with the serial number or SNID on your system.

The E1-470P is shipped in various configurations, with one or two memory slots.

The 4GB systems only have one memory slot and the maximum supported RAM is 4GB.

    Acer Serial #
    ****

    Model
    E1-470P-6659

    SNID
    ****

Also.. have do you unlock the battery and remove it?  There is no release button.

I have the memory chip.. just didn't want to take the entire thing apart if I didn't have to.

    Thank you!!

Please review my previous post regarding 4GB systems and available RAM.

Attempting to add/remove RAM is not advised on this system, as it is not designed to do so.

There is no facility to remove the battery.

If you have a battery failure, please contact technical support.

    Is this information incorrect?

    http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Acer-memory/Aspire+E1/Aspire+E1-470P-6659-upgrades.html

I ran their scan as well, and it stated 2 slots, 1 4GB, 1 Free.

    Thank you!

    Yes, that information is incorrect.

It does not ship with DDR3, but DDR3L memory.

I have no information on RAM support higher than 8GB and only on systems that ship with the second memory slot, which is populated with memory from the factory.

Again, the system is not designed for customer access or upgrading the RAM.
