Lost hdd partition, no win7 install files - service wants to scam 50eur

Due to recent hdd problems I had to format the disc and lost my HDD partition with Win7 HP OA. I have the original licence sticker.

Tried to install another Win 7 HP OA (as the licence sticker, got it from Microsoft forums) but it does not accept my licence key. As I was told the intallation files have to be from Acer origin - local service centers refuse to give me a disc or files and only want to do it for me for 50eur.

Do I have any other options of getting the suitable installation files rather than be forced to an overpriced service?

    Hi kenk

If you contact Acer support for your region, they may be able to send recovery disks to you.

They should be a lot cheaper than €50!

Acer's only contact information in my region is referring to the service partners - they dont agree to give/sell the disc but just want to take the laptop and install for 50€

    That is a shame!

Looks like you may have to spend the money then....!
