I have no video, music, files on my hard drive all on SD only 4 photos to use for background. yet only 706 MB of space.

I deleted all apps that I didn't use but that didn't help. I do have programs downloaded but moved all the setups to SD.

what can I do to give me space. my tablet is very slow. I'm not techie but I disk clean up almost hourly to gain back the little there. my defrag is on automatic done daily.

I really don't know how to improve performance.

I like the tablet but Acer should have given more hard drive as I could not recommend it to anyone!!

To bad their service dept doesn't read our comments but if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. I had thought I could get rid of my Acer laptop with the tablet but no such luck.

~1 GB of free space left does not seem like very much space.

What do you have installed on the tablet?

And do you have a 32GB or 64GB system?

Did you empty the recycle bin ? Have you run a system cleanup ? Also probably have about 3.5GB in the pagefil.sys and hiberfil.sys.

    it's a 32GB hard drive

what are pagefil.sys and hiberfil.sys.? can they be deleated? how do I find them

I clean my recycle right after I delete I don't even wait. I defrag daily.

    To reduce pagefile.sys:

Open System settings (search 'System' in Control Panel), and tap 'Advanced system settings', choose 'Advanced' tab, and tap the 'Settings...' under the Performance section, now, tap 'Advanced' tab, and tap the 'Change...' button.

Now clear the check on 'Automatically manage paging file size', and specifiy the size of pagefile.sys that you want, tap 'Set', and tap 'OK'.

To remove hiberfil.sys, run cmd as Administrator, and type 'powercfg -h off' without quotes. Keep in mind that removing hiberfil.sys will disable the hibernation feature.

Starting from now, DO NOT DEFRAG your tablet. Defragment only works on traditional spinning hard drives (some laptops). Defragmenting your tablet wont gain any speed. In fact, defragging your tablet is going to make the SSD/eMMC (the storage media) life shorter.
