hard drive erasers

 I have a acer etensa 4420 notebook pc. . i had to remove the 250 gb hdd from it do to a virus crashing the drive ..so i had a hp 250 gb hard drive and put it in it it works all but the windows on it is 7 and the notebook had windows vista i have tried to erase the drive using f-10 but all i get is a prompt that said no excute =optin what do i do to ease this dive so i can load the new software from disks .......in need of help!

    There is no requirement to format your HDD prior to installing a new OS. I have always found it best to allow the new OS to erase, partition and format the HDD during installation.


    Change the boot priority to your DVD drive is all you need do. Change it back to your HDD when installation is complete.
