My previous post  was about the upgrade to Windows and the fact that I had to reinstall windows 7 from the Acer recovery disks which all went very smoothly I then striped down  windows 7 to get 16Gb of free space I followed a post which made a bootable USB drive to install windows 8 by changing the boot order in the bios so that it booted from the USB to install window's 8 but it failed again although I had enough space to complete the installation ??????

I must have tried this 10 times using the USB and a USB DVD drive with a bootable disk but it would not work.

MAYBE THEY WERE USING THE FULL VERSION OF WINDOWS 8 AND NOT THE UPGRADE this is the only thing that might explain this ?????  Can anybody shed any light on this ?

So I next turned on the tablet booted into windows 7 incerted the USB drive did an explore found a file install so I double clicked and the whole process started took about 35 minutes I now have a Windows 8 tablet up and running, it is very fast which was a bit of a surprise, there are a few issues with my mail client **********  windows 8 does not like pop and you cannot get free live mail for windows 8 it's not computable ?

But it all seems to work well it is very different Windows 8 and will take a bit of practice to learn all the functions the mail issue is a big issue for me and other than buying outlook which will work which is an expensive option, I have contacted my provider for information i might contact Microsoft and see what they say.

I any body could provide information about why the bootable USB via the Bios did not work I would be grateful
