Hey so I have an i7 Aspire S7-392 and I haven't upgraded to Windows 8.1 if that makes a difference.

Sometimes, my laptop will randomly start acting as if SHIFT is constantly being pressed, despite the fact that I am not pressing it. Examples include when I click links on Chrome, it will open the link in a new window instead of on the same tab and when I use CTRL+TAB or ALT+TAB to shift between tabs or windows, it will shift between tabs and programs to the left direction instead of the right direction.

Another problem that usually occurs as a result of the SHIFT always being constantly pressed issue, is that I can no longer use two-finger scrolling on my touchpad and that I can no longer use the arrow keys to scroll the page. I feel like the SHIFT always being constantly pressed problem usually arises when I am using either two-finger scrolling or the arrow keys to scroll the page.

I turned off Sticky Keys but that did not solve the issue. Actually, most of the time I end up restarting my computer to rid myself of the issue, which is very frustrating.

Anyway, if anybody else has had this problem or knows how to solve it, please help me out here! Thanks.

Have you considered that you may actually have a stuck key issue?

Sometimes a key can be momentarily stuck or may occur randomly if there is debris or a physical issue with the key.

We would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.
