I have an old Aspire SA85 which has became very slow. It's still running on the original windows xp and that's fine with me.

Recently i got an Windows XP Light cd to make my Aspire quicker. First i searched the drivers i would need, including the chipset driver. I downloaded it from the acer website.

So i installed Windows Light and then i want to install the chipset driver, but it says that it is missing a component and can't continue istalling. Then it closes and that's it.

I downloaded this chipset driver from other sites, but with the same results.

The other drivers for vga, sound and LAN install perfect.

The Intel chipset update utility says it can't identify the chipset, so that's no option. I don't know what the chipset is, and i can't find the right driver for it.

The computer startup works fine and quick, but after a little while the computer become's very slow and then it's not workable anymore, so i think i cannot run this computer without the chipset driver.

Can someone give me advice?
