Connection speed issues with Acer E1-522-5659

Hello, thanks in advance for any assistance on this.  I ordered a refurbished Acer E1-522 from emachinesredeem.com and have had issues with it since recieving it.  I'm getting no help from Acer directly because they say it's outside of warranty.  I was supposed to have a 90 day warranty through the manufacturer, but the place I got it from in October list me purchasing it in July, and since I didn't get anything inside the shipping box as far as proof of purchase they are being very unhelpful.    Anyway, here is the issue.

I have three laptops, two are more than 4 years old and are basic versions, nothing nice.  I noticed when using the new Acer that it was MUCH slower when connected to the internet than both of my older laptops.  It most times can take minutes for a page to load, and sometimes when it's loading the entire computer will freeze and i'll have to reset it.  It NEVER runs at an acceptable speed, to the point of frustration.  I've googled and noticed that there are many similar issues with other Acer laptops, but when I try the fixes that are listed (updating BIOS and turning off WMM) wmm isn't listed on my network adapter, and when I updated bios it gave me an odd fail screen.  I'm not very knowledgable about this, but I was hoping someone might be familiar with what I need to do.  I did go to a download test website and surprisingly it said my download speed was about 7gb and my upload speed was about 9gb.  I can tell you that this doesn't seem right, though, based on how ridiculously slow it is.  Thanks again for any assistance.

Jch, I'm sorry that you're having this problem. Please ralize tht Acer cannot guarnatee the work of third-party refurbishers, and the warranty they gave you is not with Acer.

It is possible that they changed the operating system, thus deleting the Acer drivers. Because the machine is refurbished, they might have replaced some of the hardware, and you need different drivers. They might have made software adjustments that are affecting your speed.

Try going into Control Panel and Hardware Devices, and let it look for better drivers. SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT first, and only install one driver at a time until you are sure that it is working right.
