     Hi acer4User!

The honest answer is "maybe"! Download and run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor . This program will advise on any compatibility issues you may have. You may also have to increase RAM to minimum of 2GB for Windows 7. Check if your mobo can accept an increase.

The biggest problem you will find on older machines, is there may not be any drivers for it! You will need to search online to find Windows drivers, as the Acer support site doesn't have any!

If all appears well, firstly make sure you've backed up everything (and make sure you have recovery partition/disks incase you need to reinstall XP).

Insert the Windows 7 disk & restart your PC (making sure it will boot from the optical drive). Follow the on screen instructions. Once Windows has installed, type device manager in the start menu search box, then click on it. Once Device Manager opens, it will list all the devices with no drivers (usually indicated by an exclamation). Right click and select "Update Driver" to see if Windows can find the drivers. Also use Windows Update to find drivers.

You may also do research before you start. Download & run either Belarc Advisor or Speccy . They will scan your PC and advise on the hardware inside your machine. With that information to hand, you can search the manufacturers websites to see if they have made Windows 7 drivers for your devices! Obviously, if you can't find any drivers, the long term answer will be "no"!

It's a bit long-winded, but can be fun! (I REALLY need to get a life!)

    Good Luck!
