A couple other things I've noticed about the laptop:

  1. the touchpad will sporatically stop responding (I assume it's a synaptics driver issue)
  2. double keystrokes can be an issue (driver issue?)

I've played around with the keyboard settings, which has helped somewhat, but I've been unable to completely arrest the issue. The double keystrokes tends to affect certain keys for some time, and then sporatically stops/comes back. Is there a break in period for the key mechanisms? I've not experienced this on any other keyboard, so I'm at a loss. There appears to be nothing I can do about the touchpad. If this thing weren't so great for GIS/CAD work, I might have sent it back already.

    hi...

You need to reinstall the touchpad drivers to isolate the issue.

Here's the weblink to reinstall the touchpad driver :  Synaptics Touhpad driver

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
