I went to log on to my computer this morning and it gave me a message of "The User Profile Service service failed the login. User profile cannot be loaded." How do I fix this? My notebook is the Gateway NV53 model, purchased in March 2010.

    Ok, here we go.

If you're able to access your account there is a chance you can fix it, and conveniently Microsoft has an article on how to do it. Here's a link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215

Now if you have access and you don't want to follow these steps (too hard, don't understand) I would suggest you simply reinstall Windows. By doing this you will be erasing the entire drive so any files you have (pictures, videos, etc...) would be lost. If you are able to get into Windows then you can copy any important files onto another drive, assuming you have an external hard drive or USB key. You could also pick one up for the sake of your backup if you don't have one. Once you have saved any important data you can follow the steps listed here : http://support.gateway.com/s/software/microsof/Vista/7515910/7515910su12.shtml

Now if you can't get into Windows you're left with two options. You can take the device to a local tech to have them try and repair it for you, or you can just reinstall Windows. If you have files that you want to keep you would have to talk to a local tech so they can recover the data before wiping the drive. If you don't care about the files or if you have nothing on the drive that you're worried about you can continue with the reinstallation immediately by following these steps: http://support.gateway.com/s/software/microsof/Vista/7515910/7515910su12.shtml

If you have any troubles feel free to reply with any questions and I'll try to help you out.

    Take care,
