How can I make sure my Wireless Adapter is properly installed? Can't finish repairing connection.

Hello, I occasionally have very low connectivity and speed and have used Wireless Network Connection "Repair" before but now I have a Acer Aspire One D250-1151 and just recently I have run into an issue where I try to run repair via Wireless Network Connection and I get this:- Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following actions cannot be completed:

Disabling network adapter. Make sure adapter is properly installed.

I would like to be able to alleviate this little situation so I can finish the repair operation. I have an Acer Driver updater installed but it has not found any new drivers if that helps.  I use ***** Cleaner and another Tune Up utility and maybe one of them could have changed something? For some reason I cannot do System Restore either, although I am supposed to be able to. Using XP SP3.

Thank you in advance.

    Good day

If you cannot do a system restore, then you do have a serious OS problem. Do you have other computers connected to your wireless router and how is the signal? How close to the router do you have to be in order for you to connect to wireless?

Freeza, thanks for reply. I have another laptop that is wifi which connects and functions normally. I have my netbook backed up but I don't have a Windows XP disc to reformat my entire netbook with if I wanted to start over (of course, this has no hard drive) I didn't create the restore disc that Acer about when I first started using it. It seemed complicated and I didn't really understand the procedure entirely. It does kind of disturb me that it won't do system restore anymore.  I wonder if wanted to or had too, how to start entirely over? I do have the Windows XP license and my Acer SN SID etc..

    Thank you .
